Somdet Phra Maha RatchamangalacharnActing Supreme Patriarch Somdet Phra Maha Ratchamangalacharn, known as Somdet Chuang, is recovering well after surgery for a constriction in his small intestine, Dr Prasit Watthanapha, dean of the faculty of medicine of Mahidol University, said on Thursday. Dr Prasit said Somdet Chuang, the abbot of Wat Paknam, was admitted to Siriraj Hospital on Oct 18 after the problem developed. He was in a room on the 6th floor of the 84 Years Building. However, to ensure the monk's full recovery, visitors are not allowed. A visitors' book has been arranged for well-wishers to sign on the 6th floor of the 84 Years Building.
